What are our cabinets made of?
All the cabinets in our off road caravans are made from composite materials, much like the construction of our caravan bodies. We use this material because it is strong and lightweight, and it has been tested in harsh off road conditions. Our cabinets are a unique composite (timberless) design with an alloy plating system and positive locking smooth pull latches.
What is the Ultra Light Composite?
We also offer an upgrade option for customers to our "Ultra Light Composite" cabinetry. This cabinetry uses a less dense foam core in the panels, which makes it just as strong, if not stronger, and enables you to save weight. This is a popular option for those who want to save extra kilos when trying to meet GCM limits of their vehicle.
Is composite cabinetry strong?
The composite cabinetry is made from the same sandwich panel material that we use in our off road caravans. It is very strong and keeps the overall weight of the caravan down, while still providing ample storage space.
How are the cabinets constructed?
We use bonding technologies to keep the majority of the cabinets together, which enables us to save a lot of weight with minimal use of screws. This bonding technique also makes the cabinets stronger, as there are minimal screws to come loose on rough terrain.
How do rough roads affect composite material?
Our composite cabinetry materials are designed to withstand off road travel well. The high elongation glues we use enable the cabinetry to flex when needed to keep the structure strong and intact, even on the roughest of roads.
