How to prepare your tow vehicle for your new Zone RV - tow heights

It's essential to verify that your tow height is correct for towing your new ZONE RV.

Most customers will have upgrade work carried out on their tow vehicles in preparation for towing their caravans, such as:
  • The installation of airbags to assist the springs when the load is applied.
  • A full GVM upgrade, replacing the springs, shocks and hitch.
A GVM upgrade can increase your towing capacity, but it's vital to ensure it's suitable for the caravan you plan to tow.
Considering all the above, your tongue height should be measured at a minimum of 500 mm and a maximum of 530mm, loaded with all added options.
Please note if your caravan is fitted with a D045 coupling, you will need a suitable tow tongue with a 1 1/4" hole.
Example - measure the top of the receiver to the ground:
  • In this example the height = 430mm
  • A tongue height of 530mm is required, therefore a 100mm tongue lift is required to achieve this required height.
