Tips to help you maintain and operate your ZONE RV's electrical systems safely and efficiently - Base
ZONE RV caravans come equipped with advanced power systems that allow you to enjoy all the modern comforts of home while on the road. From the electrical certification to the 12V and 240V power systems, understanding how these systems work will help you get the most out of your caravan.
Electrical Certification: All ZONE RV caravans come with a non-prescribed Electrical Certificate, which means that installation and testing of 240V cabling and components have been completed by a qualified electrician. Any modification to this system will void the certification and 240V warranty, so it is essential to seek professional help if you want to make changes.
12V Power System: The 12V power system in ZONE RV caravans comes with advanced features that make it easy to manage your power needs. The Redarc Manager30 is an all-in-one power management solution that incorporates six products in one. It is a DC/DC charger, a 240-volt charger, a solar charger, a dual battery isolator, a load disconnect controller, and a remote battery monitor. The Manager30 automatically selects between charging sources, requiring no input from the operator during its operation.
The battery type for the 12V power system is typically 2 x 120Ah AGM. An upgrade to the Enerdrive RV80 is also available, which incorporates a 240V/40A AC-DC charger, a 12V/ 40A DC-DC charger, a solar charger, a dual battery isolator, a load disconnect controller, and a remote battery monitor. The RV80 will also automatically select between charging sources, requiring no input from the operator during its operation. The battery type for the RV80 can be 1 x 200Ah BTEC or 2 x 200AH BTEC Lithium.
Inverter (Upgrade): If you have an inverter, the battery will also supply it with 12V to convert it to 240V. However, using 240V appliances on the inverter will drain your battery faster. Typically, there are three points in your ZONE RV that are not run by your inverter: air conditioner, 240V power point under the fridge (for fridge and hot water), and the power point under your seat for the 240V charger.
240V Power System: The 240V power system in ZONE RV caravans is only available if you have 240V power plugged in from an external source. This can be at a caravan park or from your generator. When connected, it will automatically provide power to ALL 240V outlets in your van, 240V power point under seat (for AC charger), air conditioner, and hot water service.
Important Information: When supplying 240V to your ZONE RV with a generator, you will need to load shed. This means turning off the 240V power point under the fridge. If using a low-capacity generator, you may also need to turn off the 240V point under the seat for the battery charger if you want to run your air conditioner.
Understanding the power systems in your ZONE RV caravan is essential to make the most of your travels. Ensure you seek professional help if you need to modify the electrical system, and follow the important information provided to avoid any potential
issues when supplying 240V power to your caravan with a generator. By knowing the capabilities of your 12V and 240V power systems, you can maximize your battery life and ensure that you have access to all the amenities you need while on the road.
Remember, if you have any questions or concerns about your ZONE RV power system, it is always best to consult with a qualified professional to ensure that you are getting the most out of your investment. With the right knowledge and support, you can enjoy a safe and comfortable journey on the road with your ZONE RV caravan.
